The resources on this page are all free and downloadable for you to use as you see fit. You do not need to be a member or in any way affiliated with Zion Congregational Church. You can cut, paste, adapt or whatever works for you; there is no need to credit Zion. We ask only that you use them for their intended purpose to introduce people to Jesus Christ and to help them grow in their relationship with Him.
ADVENTURING THROUGH THE BIBLE is a series of studies we are developing for every book of the Bible. It is so named because we consider every occasion of discovering, exploring, and applying the Scriptures as an adventure in learning to be the people God has created us to be. The Apostle Paul told his disciple, Timothy, that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NIV). We, therefore, pray you will enjoy the adventure of being taught, rebuked, corrected, and trained to be a disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ and to help others do the same. Our DISCOVERING studies are simple, passage-by-passage observation questions of whatever book we are studying. Our EXPLORING studies are more in-depth and require some additional effort to complete. They are free for the use of anyone attending or affiliated with our church. We ask only that you use them for their intended purpose without charge or for any commercial purpose.
DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING OBJECTIVES are studies of 162 passages of scripture that pertain to 27 topics (“Objectives”) that are important milestones for growing Christians. The study includes a Leader's Guide that will help you use the lessons in your own devotions, to disciple one-to-one, or as the basis for a small group. If you would like to join someone else in studying the Objectives, please give the church a call for a referral.
SEED KIT contains four copies of a scriptural summary of our condition that prevents fellowship with God, and His provision in Jesus Christ that opens the door to a relationship with Him. It can be printed double-sided, which will provide copies that you can share with others. We would also be delighted to provide you with a kit that is already printed and packaged. Just let us know that you're interested, we will get it to you immediately.
THRU THE BIBLE The questions in this document cover every chapter of each book of the Bible. In 2018, the appropriate daily questions were provided to Zion Congregational Church members who rather than just reading, wanted to take a bit more detailed look at each passage. This entire 418-page package in now provided to you for the same purpose. The Old Testament questions are simple observations; the New Testament questions also include some simple interpretation and application questions. Please feel free to use as many or as few questions as you might find helpful for your own personal edification, one-on-one, with others, or in small groups. They are provided free to you, please do the same for others. Any commercial use is unauthorized and contrary to their intent.
THRU THE NEW TESTAMENT contains more than 7,000 questions you can use to help you make observations and glean truths from every book of the New Testament. They are the result of a group of Zion folks reading through the New Testament from February 2015 thru January 2016. They are not copyrighted and there is no pride of ownership, so you can edit, alter or use them in any way that you like for your own study, to study with another or in a small group.
